A sequence with purpose
Vocabulary, sentence building and grammar create a foundation for guided dialogue and more spontaneous communication. Each stage prepares learners for the next.
CANADIAN ROOTS. A CLEAR TEACHING PURPOSE.
Founded in Canada in 2015, Smash Education creates complete French, English and Spanish curricula for language learners—from K–12 through college and university. We connect classroom instruction, individual practice and progress insights so teachers can focus on helping learners use the language.
WHAT GUIDES US
A language curriculum needs more than a collection of activities. It needs a clear sequence, meaningful opportunities to communicate and room for learners who start at different levels. That is the work we put into Smash.
Teachers bring the instruction, judgment and human connection. Smash brings a full curriculum, ready-to-use resources and progress information to help them plan, differentiate and guide the next step.
Smash Education develops and maintains its language-learning curricula. Our content evolves over time as lessons and activities are refined, updated and reorganized within a carefully structured teaching sequence.

Diagnostic and placement results help teachers choose suitable practice. A main curriculum and further supplemental materials support scaffolding, reinforcement and extension.
Listening, speaking, reading and writing belong together. Oral activities and interactive practice help connect learning with meaningful communication.
Our teaching approach builds progressively. Teachers can follow the main curriculum and select additional practice to respond to their learners.
Introduce vocabulary and language patterns with audiovisual and interactive resources.
Connect sentence building and grammar with purposeful practice.
Use guided dialogue and role-play to prepare learners to communicate.
Create opportunities for more spontaneous conversation and revisit skills that need support.
Extensive content and a carefully built teaching sequence take time to develop. We focus on French, English and Spanish so we can build purposeful learning paths, rather than simply grow a list of languages.
We would love to develop more languages over time. Share which language you would like to see next, or explore our community-led Indigenous language partnerships.
